Dr. Tracy Nyberg

Dr. Nyberg has been a small animal veterinarian in Marquette for the last 13 years. She opened Stuga North in the fall of 2020 and is proud to be a part of this community. 

She grew up downstate in St. Joseph, Michigan and went to Michigan State University for her Bachelor’s  degree and also her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. It was there she met her husband Dave who has helped and supported in building the dream of owning a practice along with their family including three children, three dogs, one cat, and a flock of chickens. 

Dr. Nyberg has many passions in veterinary medicine. She truly values the role she plays in the human-animal bond, often feeling like she has built an extended family with her clients. She enjoys preventative care and education along with the daily challenges of internal medicine cases. Surgery days are often a favorite with radiography and ultrasonography being her favorite diagnostic tools.  She serves as a member of the Board of Veterinary Medicine along with a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Michigan Veterinary Medical Association.

During her free time Dr. Nyberg enjoys spending time with her family camping, traveling, running, skiing, biking, and any fresh-air activity.

Dr. Kellie Pesola

Dr. Pesola has been practicing veterinary medicine for 12 years since graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also earned her Master of Public Health degree. Dr. Pesola started out her academic journey in marine biology while working as a scuba instructor with plans to become an aquatic veterinarian! In her 12 years of practice, Dr. Pesola has worked around the country but as a Marquette native, moved home in 2021. She is excited to be back and thankful her daughter can grow up surrounded by family and our wonderful community, and to once again be immersed in the beautiful nature that can only be found in the U.P.  Outside of work, Dr. Pesola enjoys spending time with her family and pets, running, hiking, camping, traveling, and generally being active outdoors.

When asked about her passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Pesola emphasizes her focus on preventative medicine, pain management, and improving quality of life for her patients. "It's an amazing feeling when you can see drastic improvements in a patient's comfort or quality of life."

Dr. Julie Vezzetti

Dr. Vezzetti has been practicing veterinary medicine for 11 years since graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Vezzetti is no stranger to the lengths people will go to help animals. As a graduate student with a lab of 72 rats, on which she was performing behavioral studies, she was determined to not euthanize even one at the end. She was able to find homes (screened for having no snakes of course) for every one of them! It was only natural that Dr. Vezzetti followed her dream to become a veterinarian. She enjoys working in a smaller community, which allows more diversity and problem solving in the care she provides for her patients. She has developed a great enjoyment of dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine, and of course small mammal exotic medicine.

She is lucky enough to live in the beautiful Upper Peninsula (where she was born and raised) with her husband, Ben, their two children, and a hilarious Basset Hound named Frenchie. In addition to her DVM, Dr. Vezzetti has completed a wildlife medicine course at Brothers Safari in South Africa, graduate research at Northern Michigan University, and has earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
